The water crisis in Haiti
Haiti faces one of the most severe water access crises in the Western Hemisphere. Less than 50% of the rural population has reliable access to clean water. Waterborne illness remains a leading cause of school absenteeism and child mortality.
In the schools we serve, the installation of purified water systems has been correlated with a measurable drop in absenteeism and a reported improvement in teacher and student wellbeing.
